José Alberto González, es Director de Desarrollo de Negocios para la Arquitectura de Redes sin Fronteras que comprende las Tecnologías Seguridad, Movilidad, Ruteo, Conmutadores IP y Optimización y Administracion de Redes en Latinoamérica y el Caribe, para Cisco Systems, Inc.

González ha creado una carrera sostenida en Cisco desde 1997, obteniendo así mas de quince años de sólida experiencia dentro de la empresa y teniendo más de 24 años de experiencia en el mercado latinoamericano de tecnología y telecomunicaciones, especialmente en las áreas de ventas, mercadeo, desarrollo de negocios, operaciones y estrategia.

Su trayectoria en Cisco comenzó como Account Manager y Channel Account Manager en Cisco México, y el año siguiente fue asignado como Gerente de Canales para la Región Norte y Occidente del país. En 1999 González asumió la Gerencia de Oportunidades Mayores para México y Centroamérica, en el 2000, la Gerencia de Oportunidades Mayores para Latinoamérica.

A partir de 2001, González tomó la Gerencia de Operaciones y Desarrollo de la Fuerza de Ventas para Latinoamérica, el Caribe y Canadá. En 2002 llegó a la Gerencia de Desarrollo de Negocios, para los segmentos Empresarial y Comercial en Latinoamérica y el Caribe, en 2003 fue Gerente del segmento Empresarial y el Sector Público en Latinoamérica y Caribe. A mediados del 2006 se convirtió en Gerente Senior para el Segmento Empresarial en Latinoamérica y el Caribe. En Agosto de 2008, tomo la Dirección de la Tecnología de Seguridad para Latinoamérica y el Caribe y la Dirección de Tecnologías Avanzadas y Emergentes para México. A partir de Agosto de 2009, agregó a su responsabilidad  la Tecnología de Movilidad para Latinoamérica y el Caribe. Y en 2010 tomo la responsabilidad de la Arquitectura de Redes sin Fronteras para Latinoamérica y el Caribe.

Anteriormente, trabajó en Microsistemas Gerenciales (MIGESA) durante casi seis años, desempeñando cargos como Gerente de Alianzas Internacionales y Gerente de Ventas. Anterior a ello fue Gerente General de MEGA, empresa de manufactura y distribución de sistemas electrónicos. E inició su carrera en Hewlett Packard de México, donde se desempeñó como Consultor de Redes e Ingeniero de Sistemas.

Nativo de Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, México, González es Ingeniero en Sistemas Electrónicos egresado del Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), y completó su MBA en el Instituto de Estudios Avanzados y de Actualización (IDESAA) de Monterrey.

Ha realizado además, diversos estudios y postgrados sobre negocios internacionales, administración, dirección y liderazgo, en los Estados Unidos, México y Europa, en instituciones como Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania; Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of Internacional Management; y el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

He is Director of Business Development of the Borderless Networks Architecture that includes the Technologies Security, Mobility, Routing, IP Switches and Optimization and Network Management in Latin America and Caribbean, for Cisco Systems, Inc.

He started working 24 years ago in the Latin American market of technology and telecommunications; especially, in the areas of sales, marketing, business development, operations and strategy.

 González has steadily developed a career at Cisco Systems, Inc., Mexico since 1997. He started as an Account Manager and Channel Account Manager. After a year, he was appointed Manager of Channels for the North and West region of the country. In 1999, he became Manager of Major Opportunities for Mexico and Central America, and in 2000, he was appointed Manager of Major Opportunities for Latin America.

In 2001, González he was appointed Manager of Operations and Development of Sales Force for Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. In 2002 he became Manager of Business Development for the Business and Commercial segments of Latin America and Caribbean. In 2003, he was Manager of the Business segment and of the Public Sector in Latin America and Caribbean. In mid 2006, he became Senior Manager of the Business Segment in the Latin America and the Caribbean. In August 2008, he became Director of the Technology of Security in Latin America and the Caribbean; he held the position of Director of Advanced and Emerging Technologies of Mexico. From August 2009, he added to his duties the Technology of Mobility for Latin America and the Caribbean. Finally, since 2010, he is responsible for the Borderless Networks Architecture for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Previously, he worked in Management of Microsystems (MIGESA) for almost six years; here, he was the Manager of International Alliances Manager and Sales Manager. Earlier, he was the General Manager of MEGA, company that manufactures and distributes electronic systems. He began his career at Hewlett Packard of Mexico, where he worked as a Network Consultant and Systems Engineer.

José Alberto was born in Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) as well as a MBA degree from en el Instituto de Estudios Avanzados y de Actualización (IDESAA), in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.

In addition, he took several postgraduate courses on international business, administration, management and leadership, in the United States, Mexico, and Europe; in institutions such as the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, and the Institute of technology and superior studies of Monterrey.
